Who are We?

I've been a Sci-Fi fan for as long as I can remember; I grew up with Captain Kirk, Captain Scarlet and spent my Saturday afternoons watching Doctor Who. Later the Six Million Man, The Magician and Buck Rogers But it took me a long time to find anyone else that shared my passion. Fortunately, my son David is also a huge Sci-Fi fan though we don't always agree on the same shows!
Going online in 1995 really opened my eyes to the world of fandom, before that all my information came from magazines and the only stories I read were official novels. Though I joined a few mailing lists, it wasn't until 2000 that I started to chat to other fans, after starting my own website and mailing list. Stargate SG-1 was the show that really inspired me, I wrote my first fan fiction during season three and my website grew from there.
In 2000 I went to my first convention, Wolf SG2 and a year later at SG3 I met some of the members of LOTNA, though it still took me a few more months to pluck up the courage to go to a meeting! But once I did I've never looked back, it's really great to find people to hang out with that understand that passion for Sci-Fi. And I met my wonderful husband Mark.
Stargate is still my main obsession and I seem to like shows these days that no one else does, Andromeda, Mutant X and Space Precinct. Though I will admit, Andromeda's final seasons where not what it used to be! I love the new Doctor Who and Life on Mars.
I still spend a lot of my free time online; my screen name is Katana. I like to hang out on livejournal and infrequently maintain my websites, including this one!
