Who are We?
Dave Baseley

Gosh it's hard to write about yourself but here goes - I'm 31 years old, a founding member of the LOTNA group and lucky enough to be married to Janine and co- slave to her cats.
I have to thank my mother for raising me correctly. Dr Who, Blake's 7, Space 1999, were all expected viewing and the first film I remember seeing at the cinema was Star Wars, even though I was only 4 at the time (thanks Mum!). So not surprisingly instead of wanting a Subuteo set, I wanted Star Wars figures and still have a great collection to this day.
Shows I enjoy include Farscape, Firefly, Babylon 5, Blake's 7, Doctor Who, Buffy, actually come to think of it I enjoy and watch most Sci-Fi shows (though I don't think much of Tru calling).
My first run in with fandom though was when I saw a clip on a Star Trek special on Entertainment Tonight showing Pages Bar a Star Trek theme pub in London. Along I went and soon made friends with a lot of like-minded people (back then it was the kind of place where people were friendly) including Corinne and Darren. From there we formed a group, the Pages Radical Away Team Society (P.R.A.T.S), where we had a lot of fun going on days out in full Star Trek costume.
Never shy of the T.V. camera I've been drafted onto many shows in some Sci-Fi costume or another including The Big Breakfast, Ann & Nick, London Tonight, and Nickelodeon. On a Channel Four late night show that I've never seen, they decided to edit in clips from the Generations movie. So when I said, I think more people should be seen walking down the road in a Star Trek top just like they do in a football top, it cut to Captain Kirk saying "NO DEFINITELY NOT" When I was in the middle of my speech about the reasons I love the show somebody took an electronic pen and drew Spock ears on me (I would love to see it- it sounds hilarious).
One of the more enjoyable jobs I've had was to work for a film/Sci Fi shop (the Hollywood Superstore) where I had the pleasure of organising celebrity signings. With my choice in celebrity I made sure there were plenty of Sci Fi signings including Terry Farrell, Claudia Christian, Bruce Boxleitner, Anthony Daniels (a really smashing chap), Peter Jurassic, Peter Davidson and Jackie Pearce.
Currently I'm doing a lot of organisation for the League group. Even though I do a lot of work for the group, most of the fun is in being a member and I try to balance both.
My other hobbies include airsoft (think paintball), Janine's cats, chess, computer games, Janine's cats, collecting autographs, watching films and did I mention the wife loves cats?
