Who are We?
Mark (Plank) Doney
My name is similar to a piece of wood but on this small planet I have been given an earth name.
My earth name is one Mark Doney and I was created on this planet in the year of our lord 1971 during the eleven month of the year during the 8th day. I was meant to be created on the day of Halloween but was told to keep warm and thus came out some nine days late. I was born in the forest of Oxford.
During the early years of my wooden life I was brought up with many out of this world things including Battlestar Galactica, Star Trek, Blake 7, Doctor Who, Buck Rogers but the love of my life was of course Star Wars!! Then during my early adulthood when I moved to a nearby forest I started to notice such things like Red Dwarf, Hitchhikers, New Battlestar Galactica, Quantum Leap, Blade Runner and Monty Python!!
Then in mid 2005 I heard about the LOTNA group and soon after became a fully fledged member. I do have to travel quite a bit so I do not attend all activities but I do try my best when can. I have attended things such as Salute and Cult TV (2005 and 2006). I also have written for the Contact magazine a few times.
I have also been known to host a few murder mystery nights for LOTNA in which one was very successful. I do also read a lot but its heartbreaking to see that the material for these books might have come from some relatives!!! I often read Star Wars novels but my favourite book of all time must be War of the Worlds and not the so called Tom cruise version of events Pah!!
My other early hobbies include Laser Tagging (where my name came from), Computing, Ten Pin Bowling, Pubbing, Freeforming (Role Playing), Writing Jorunal Entries and listerning to all kinds of popular music!!
